Sam is a pretty college sophomore, so desperate to earn some cash for a deposit on an apartment that she accepts a babysitting job even after she finds out there is no baby. Mr. and Mrs. Ulman are the older couple who lure Sam out to their creeky Victorian mansion deep in the woods, just in time for a total lunar eclipse. just saw The House Of The Devil and overall I liked it. But as many have commented it was a bit too slow, even by old movie standards, I think. The whole 80’s look/feel was cool, though. It did indeed feel like watching an old 80’s thriller.
It was enjoyable but not something I’d watch again sometime.

paranormal activity was a terrible movie dj, not even in the same ballpark. not one skeptic in the whole movie and they always left the door open even when she was draiged off. they should have had a ghosthunter team in and debunked the house and wammied with the end and took out the stupid ouija board scene and rewrite some dialogue. reminded me of open water with the bitchy amnoying couple u hope drowns 25 min into it. this is realms above.

movie was great all they needed to do was cut some in the middle it gets a little slow and remove the info at the beginning as it gives away too much of the movie and just get the date and time of place and leave the info till end. would have been A+ if they did that.tom noonan who plays the tall cultist played the frankenstein monster on the monster squad. if you like movies like Rosemarys Baby or The Ninth Gate youll love this.

Devil will not suceed the way PA did because they are release too close together and doesn’t leave that creepiness factor like PA.

I found my heart racing more in PA(but never jump back in terror though lol) then actually this one….This movie was just like the creep factor settling in for a few mintues then leaving

PA wasnt that bad of a scary movie….Yes it was to hyped up. But if you really look at though its much better then most horror films that came out in recent years…..I enjoyed this movie, but the creep factor didnt settle in until like the ending…other then that the only other creepy part in this movie was Mr. Ulman

I really liked this movie. I agree that the middle part was pretty lame (basically her just walking around the house) but from the moment she broke the vase shit was INTENSE. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, the last 20 minutes were fucking awesome.

This movie was… AWESOME! Instantly jumps into my short list of horror favorites.
People that complain about it’s ambiance and pacing probably have A.D.D. or prefer the Hollywood Freddy vs. Jason style of aggressive non-stop action horror.

I want my money back! Nothing happened til at least an hour into the movie and the ending didn’t make sense wtf! Trailer looked good and the music is pretty sweet. This movie was not scary so I’m pretty disappointed as I am a big fan of scary movies. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MOVIE DON’T SAY SHIT TIL YOU ACTUALLY WATCH IT! BE THE JUDGE YOURSELF!

just saw it…what a waste of time…not scary…slow built up …nothing happened until the last 15 min…this is one of the those movie where the critics gives it too much credit and u left disappoint after seeing it…don’t take my words for it…Paranormal Acitvity was better than this.

Any movie that takes twenty five minutes and introduces three unncecessary characters just to establish the fact that the heroine needs to make some money before ANYTHING happens is a badly made movie.
