I read the book – it was awesome like all of Robert Sawyer’s books. Best sci-fi author out there.

I’m so happy to see Joseph Fiennes. I miss seeing him The story looks good, but I wonder how they will be able to carry this plot forward beyond one season. It’ll be so sad to just have one season of him and this.

Wow, kill me for making an observation would ya. It ’shares’ a bit of comparison. Obviously the show’s creators know of the cult following that Donnie Darko has therefore they are just capitalizing on the movies popularity by giving this trailer the same feel. Everyone has their own opinion, and even if the book came out before Donnie Darko, the show can be nothing like the book, because we all know that that’s usually the case now-a-days. In the book, most planes don’t crash unless they were mid-landing because auto-pilot was able to control the plane for two minutes.
If they were asleep they have they flashforward through a dream like state except the experience was much more vivid than a normal dream.
Basically everyone experiences it.
Read the book, it’ll make a lot more sense.

Honey, it’s not a rip off of Donnie Darko.
The show is based off of a book of the same name by Robert J. Sawyer published in 1999, that was 2 years before Donnie Darko was made.

Read the book – there ARE heaps of catastrophes, that’s what the explosions and stuff in the trailer are. Plus, the half of the globe sleeping didn’t experience it.

OBVIOUSLY it doesn’t make sense right now, it’s just the previews.
And people DID die from plane crashes and such, and the population did decline, but not DRAMATICALLY.
People who were asleep did blackout but could be traslated thinking they were dreams, it’s STILL a blackout, thyey just call it like that
